Meet cRAIG fAUBEL OF dANTOTSU pERfORMANCE
Tell us about yourself and your organization.
I am a business coach with my niche in small to medium size companies, coaching upper to middle management and sales professionals. My clients are experiencing an increase in individual or company revenue, developing better leadership skills, enhancing employee retention and improving their balance in time management. This past year I wrote a book, Wisdom from Fred the Lawn Mower Salesman, which is a collection of quotations from many successful people. The book revolves around my mission statement, “If you build your people, your people will build your company.”
For the last twenty years I was a sales team leader in the print and supply chain management industry for which I won many national awards in sales. My education includes a BSBA from the University of Arkansas and a MA from the University of Texas at Dallas. I am a Master Graduate from Rapport Leadership International and I just completed the Executive and Professional Coaching Program at the University of Texas at Dallas which is graduate level curriculum. I have earned my certification from the International Coaching Federation and soon I will receive my ACC credential. I have been married for 30 years and have three children.
How did you and your organization get introduced to Rapport Leadership International?
My largest client referred me to Rapport Leadership International in 2002. I am a firm believer in “school is never out” and I wanted to attend a rigorous leadership school to further my business skills.
How many Rapport graduates does your organization have?
My protégé, Kristen Laughlin, who was my assistant for 19 ½ years is a Master Graduate from Rapport Leadership International. JaNae Adkins, who worked for me for 11 years, has attended the Power Communication class. In addition, both of my sons attended Teen Leadership Breakthrough classes at Rapport Leadership International.
Tell us about your Rapport experience?
The Rapport experience gave me new insights, strengthened my leadership skills and significantly impacted my coaching philosophy.
How has Rapport impacted you personally?
Rapport Leadership International impacted me personally by challenging me more than I thought I could be challenged. My comfort zone was continually expanded. This made me realize that personal growth is accomplished through this.
How has Rapport impacted your business?
The Rapport classes impacted my business in a very positive manner. My main focus was strictly on sales. I quickly realized that company growth can only be accomplished through improving leadership skills, developing assistants and giving them responsibility, authority, accountability, and autonomy of the business with compensation shared accordingly. I continued to ask myself, “Where do I see my team three years down the road? What will it take to get there? What will be my team’s strategies to accomplish this task? What specific challenges will the team be facing? Who can hold me accountable for my actions?”
What class had the greatest impact on you and why?
Rapport’s class Life Mastery focused on clearly articulating goals and action plans for the next five years in the respective categories: personal, career, relationships and family, financial, and spiritual. The lessons learned from Rapport have been a consistent strength throughout my graduate work studies at the University of Texas at Dallas.
When you face a challenge in your organization, what tools from the training do you call on first?
When I am working with a client, the core competencies of both Rapport International and The International Coaching Federation come out. These competencies consist of meeting ethical guidelines, developing trust, active listening and questioning, direct communication, creating awareness, developing goals and action plans, and measuring progress and accountability. John Maxwell said it best, “Everything rises and falls on leadership.”
