meet tomorrow's leaders
Rapport had the amazing opportunity to be invited to a meeting of a new group (soon to be non-profit) dedicated to sending as many teens in their community through Teen Leadership Breakthrough. Located in the Coachella Valley of California, these Rapport graduates have big hopes for the future leaders of our world. "I want to see a world of superstars made up of teens exposed to Rapport training because of Tomorrow's Leaders," says Steve Fried, "these are the people we are entrusting our world to, the people who will take care of us in our old age."
Jerod Pannell became involved with Tomorrow's Leaders because he feels a responsibility to the children in his community. "I see role-models force fed to my children, and the people on MTV and in the NFL aren't the only people out there! I'm a role-model, and the people in my community are role-models. I want them to know that it is okay to be okay with yourself; to be different - and even to celebrate those differences, and this is the most important time in life to learn that lesson. Rapport empowered me, and I know that it will empower the teens we send through!" His sentiments are echoed by Angela Henderson who imagines "schools full of teens who are comfortable in their own skin, who aren't judging each other based on perceptions they get from the media about what's 'cool', and instead valuing each other and themselves for who they are."
Tay Fried knows that she can be a part of teens focusing their energy in positive directions - towards the thoughts, dreams and ideas that prepare them for tomorrow. "What really attracts me to this, is the idea of teens having a purpose, of seeing beyond today and picturing the future. We can help these kids see themselves as successful!"
Tomorrow's Leaders will be holding a rally in the first half of next year. They invite anyone who wants to get involved and make a difference to join them.
