meet power soccer usa head coach chris finn

A remarkably positive man, Chris Finn is a Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International by taking Leadership Breakthrough One, Power Communication and Life Mastery. His ability to accomplish his goals serves as an inspiration to everyone. Not only does he always have a smile and a friendly word to say, he has used the skills he learned during his Rapport experiences to help him reach his goal of becoming the Head Coach for the Power Soccer USA Team. "At Rapport I learned how to step up and take on challenges – to just be a leader in the forefront. I reaffirmed my motto of knowing that anything is possible as long as I believe in what I am doing, and I put some positive energy and action into what I want to accomplish… I am able to take action instead of waiting for something to happen."
Chris found Power Soccer in March of 2001, one of the only sports designed for power wheelchair users. After his spinal cord injury in 1992 he had been searching for a competitive team sport. He tells people that he came alive again when he found Power Soccer. He got involved as a player and believed it would be a recreational activity; however after only three months of playing, he was asked to serve as the coach for the team he played on as well as another local team. He knows that the passion and love he immediately had for the game gave him the opportunity to be a leader. After a couple of years of coaching, Chris was selected as an ambassador for the USA to help promote and develop the international sport of Power Soccer. He went to Portugal and met with delegates from other countries to begin to develop international rules.
He had just sent off his application to be a part of the USA national team before he went to Rapport's Life Mastery class this past April. He had applied to every position; Head Coach, Assistant Coach and player - just to be involved. In Life Mastery, Chris set the goal of not only being chosen as Head Coach, but winning the Power Soccer World Cup next summer in Japan.
His Life Mastery goal was realized when he was selected as Head Coach of the USA Power Soccer team in June. This past summer in Atlanta the final rules were established at a Power Soccer World Summit. While at the summit he was also elected as Vice President for the Federation of International Power Football Association. From finding Power Soccer in 2001, he is now involved in the sport locally, nationally and internationally. "Besides becoming a stronger more powerful leader myself, I am able to develop other strong powerful leaders so I’m not alone and I can surround myself with other goal oriented people."
He and his partner Robin also made the goal of travelling more during Life Mastery, and in the next year she and Chris will be going to Las Vegas, Arizona, Indianapolis, France and Japan in assocation with Power Soccer. "It seems that by putting my goals out there, they are coming to fruition," says Chris.
Rapport Leadership International will be partnering with Chris and the USA Power Soccer Team by donating Custom Performance training while the team is practicing in Las Vegas, January 4-6, 2007. Chris invites everyone to come out, learn more about the sport and see Team USA in action. If you would like more information, or would like to make a donation to support the team's travel and World Cup aspirations, please email Chris at powersoccerusa@yahoo.com.
